Longevity and maintenance of granite
Granite and Water
Natural granite has formed over millions of years. It has a high level of sustainability as it can be found in nature already ready for use. It does not require energy to produce. Energy is only needed for extraction and processing. The energy demand is much lower compared to other materials like steel, cast iron, and ceramics.
Another very important feature, thanks to its high resistance to abrasion, is the minimal wear, allowing prolonged use of various measuring instruments and granite structures over time.
Thanks to Zali’s recalibration service (through grinding and lapping), the product’s life cycle is practically infinite, significantly reducing the need for additional energy sources. Both the bases used for various industrial applications and the granite measuring instruments do not require painting or special substance treatments. The waste from the production cycle can be transformed and reused as gravel, as it is free from harmful substances.
Another advantage of granite is the use of water for tool cooling in production plants, avoiding emulsions or full oil, which are substances that are difficult to dispose of. Thanks to a modern automatic closed-loop water purification system, the use of new water is significantly reduced.
Longevity and maintenance of granite
Granite components have a long lifespan thanks to their resistance to wear and abrasion. The recalibration service allows the product’s life cycle to be further extended, reducing the need for new resources.
Minimization of production waste
Granite waste produced during the processing phase is reused as gravel, preventing waste and reducing environmental impact, thanks to the absence of harmful substances in the waste material.
Use of renewable energy
Zali has adopted a pellet heating system for the production of heat and hot water, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and improving the overall energy efficiency of its business operations.
Use of renewable energy
Wood and Fossil Fuels
Wood, an eco-sustainable material, is used for all packaging intended for the transport of granite components, both in its natural form and in OSB panels made from recycled material.
It is also used for the production of cases suitable for the safe protection of high-precision granite instruments. The use of other packaging materials such as plastic is minimized.
Additionally, Zali has equipped itself with a modern and efficient pellet boiler for the energy needs of heating and hot water production.
Zali, especially during the design phase with the customer, preferably organizes video conferences. The use of cars for travel is reduced to the minimum necessary. Additional savings and sustainability.
